The Marine Technology Group
The Marine Technology Group is comprised of six companies all dedicated to a particular segment of the marine industry. It is our way of committing ourselves to help the maritime sector to efficiently and effectively deliver their individual services.
Formed in 1950 Sin Hua Heng (SANWIN CORPORATION) retailed various products including abaca rope for farmers and fishermen. With the advent of plastics, we became the first company to introduce synthetic ropes into the Philippines. And at present, we (Manila Cordage Co.) are the top producers of a complete line of synthetic rope in the Philippines. We have expanded into a complete supplier for deck equipment as well.
In 1978, ROPE SYSTEMS CORPORATION was incorporated. Its principal business is the marketing and servicing of marine navigation and communication equipment. Through the years, we have developed our expertise in equipment sales and services, increased our branches nationwide and acquired dealership for over 30 lines of marine and communication equipment.
Rope Systems is a complete marine & communications equipment supplier. From navigation to communication, from deck equipment to propeller bearing, our company is in the forefront providing equipment, technical services and training for the needs of every vessel owner.
In the Philippines, Rope Systems Corporation is considered a market leader in the supply of navigation equipment. In 1991, we were honored by the fishing industry for our “continuing efforts” in delivering latest technological advancements at the most affordable rates and sustained back-up which helped the industry.
In 1987, seeing the potential in aqua-culutre, we formed SANTEH FEEDS CORPORATION. We adopted the motto “FISH FOR EVERY FILIPINO” to extend the awareness that aqua-culture is the solution in providing fish to the ever growing population.
In 1991, PROPMECH CORPORATION was appointed Philwide Marine dealer for Caterpillar. With commitment and dedication of our people, we have developed Caterpillar from a non-existent share of the marine engine market into the current market leader in this particular business segment. Today, our service capabilities, parts distribution and engine inventory is unmatched.
In 1994, we started the construction of the MARINE TECHNOLOGY CENTER. Completed in 1995, the center now provides research, training, and service support for high-tech equipment such as Radar Plotters, GPS Position Monitoring, Water Jet, Direct Ammonia Refrigeration and Trunking Radios.
SUBIC MARINE DEPOT was inaugurated in 1996. It is strategically located in the freeport of Subic Bay. Subic Marine Depot aims to be a regional supplier of marine equipment and world class service station for international vessel calling on Subic.
